<[Eve] E.MAHONEY3> Hey Nigel, will we ever get more of an explanation for why LaCroix is alive?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> O.K. I don't think that they have any plans to explain Lacroix's re-appearance any more than it already has been.

<[karyl] KKR> Is there any of LC's backstory you care to share?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> The backstory is very vague as there is no bible. My own ideas are that he is very old and very powerful. He chose Janette and Nick, and in his eyes, they have betrayed him.

<[karyl] KKR> Do you see LC as an "abusive father" (emotionally) and if so, did your role in ULTIMATE BETRAYAL feed into that?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> It all depends how you define abusive father. Like many fathers, he feels that he knows what is best for his children. Ultimate betrayal didn't consciously feed L.C. But that's only the conscious.

<[Lostsoul] J.PRASINOS> Hi Nigel! Has Natalie met LaCroix yet?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> No. Not yet, but Schanke has.

<[Eve] E.MAHONEY3> Nigel, I loved it in "Hunted" where LaCroix really seemed to be acting like a parent to Nick and Janette. Will we see more of that in future shows? And will we ever see how LaCroix became a vampire?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Eve, it's good to talk. Lacroix has become more of a mentor, and less of an enemy to Nick this season. That may be construed as acting like a parent. Yes, we will, but not this year.

<[Eve] E.MAHONEY3> Not this year? Does that mean there'll be another season? Will Nick also perceive him as less of an enemy? <Great to talk <g>>

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> I knew that you'd say that! It looks very promising. Nick treats him with the same mix of love, dependency and suspicion.

<[Jackie] J.VANSUCH> You must admit, LaCroix's actions MUST be viewed with suspicion. <G>

<[Becky] B.THOMSON5> Hi, Nigel, we met at Galaxy Fair in Houston. I still have your guest ribbon that you gave me as a consolation prize at the auction. How many episodes are filmed now, and how many yet to film for this Season?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> We have now filmed twenty-one, and there are five more to do.

<[Becky] B.THOMSON5> Are you coming to us tonight from Toronto? When is filming expected to be completed?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Yes, I am. We expect to end filming the first week in December.

<[karyl] KKR> Nigel (great to see you, <BTW>), if you could have script input, what is the thing you'd most like to see?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> In all modesty, more of Lacroix.

<[karyl] KKR> Well, us too! ANYTHING SPECIFIC?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> I want to see how he was brought across, and we also really need to resolve the conflict between him and Nick.

<SANDY.W> Has Lacroix brought across many vampires? (I'm new to the series this year)

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Not many. He always gets carried away with the feeding process, and completely drains them. The ones that he has are not accidents. Each was chosen for a reason.

<SANDY.W> Ah..so if theyre completely drained, they don't cross over? Thanks.

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> No. Completely drained is dead.

<SANDY.W> (would love to know the reasons they were chosen)

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Each is a different reason. It would take too long here.

<CANOL.NOS> Hi. I talked to you at last year's Toronto Trek, Dead of Winter, Mad Media and This year's Toronto Trek.

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Hi.

<CANOL.NOS> Question: Do you think LaCroix has become maniacal?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Absolutely not. He is a spurned parent, rejected by those that he loves the most.

<CANOL.NOS> Do you think he feels rejected by Janette, really?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> I was waiting for someone to pick up on that. The difference between J and N is simply that J knows how to "play the system" better than N. LC knows how she feels as keenly as he knows how N feels.

<[Gillian] G.HORVATH> I'm just here to throw Virtual Flowers. I've been thrilled by the dailies on my episodes and you really nailed the "La-Q" stuff in "Father's Day." I just have to apologize for not giving you anything to do this week. :-)

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Fathers Day was a wonderful ep. You deserve many, many congrats. One of the Eps I most enjoyed.

<[Gillian] G.HORVATH> It's mutual, then!

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Yup!

<P.WEIR2> I have a line of clothing called 'Vampire Wear' and I would love to give you some. We are in Toronto - is this possible? While you are here? An author named Nancy Kilpatrick (Near Death) told me you would love it!

<L.HAINES2> Nigel, Hi. What do you mean, resolve the conflict between Nick and LaCroix? ! Isn't that the source of a lot of the dramatic tension? Will there be a "Natalie" episode?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> I just think we need to get the order of importance straight. First, L.C. second Nick, third Janette, somewhere else, the rest. There will be a Nat ep. Again, not this year.

<[Jackie] J.VANSUCH> Why does that order of priority not surprise me? <G>

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> He must learn his place.

<[Jackie] J.VANSUCH> LOL!

<L.HAINES2> What do you want to see resolved between LC and N?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Nick is a hypocrite. He rejects Vamps, and yet uses his Vamp power to help him in his profession. He must choose. Either he is, and he accepts all that that entails, or he is not.

<[Becky] B.THOMSON5> L.HAINES2's question was exactly what I was planning to ask. Could LaCroix ever accept Nick's quest for mortality? Can Nick ever forgive LaCroix for what he perceives as past wrongs?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> I think LC could if Nick was honest about it. I don't think that Nick can.

<[Becky] B.THOMSON5> Do you think Nick will ever learn to actually listen to LaCroix sometimes and benefit from his greater experience, etc.?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> My first impulse is to say No. But on further thought, I'm not sure.

<[Karen] K.STORTZ> Hello, Nigel. We met (very briefly) at TO Trek last July. I was wondering what, as an actor, has been most rewarding for you in the direction that LaCroix's character has taken since his resurrection, and what has been most frustrating.

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Difficult. The most frustrating is that he still isn't used enough. It should be a show about a Vamp who happens to be a cop, not the other way round. Most rewarding is the response that I get from you people for my work.

<[Karen] K.STORTZ> Do you think that if LaCroix was used more, you (and the writers) would have more of a chance to explore and develop the character?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Absolutely.

<[Lostsoul] J.PRASINOS> Hello Nigel, pauletta here. Do you have any speculations on LC's origins - ancient Egypt, Byzantium, Rome, Jersey?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> My own personal preference is for Ancient Egypt.

<[Lostsoul] J.PRASINOS> Who would've been LC's master?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> This is not a cop out. I honestly don't know.

<[Jackie] J.VANSUCH> Good cop out, Nigel! <G>

<[karyl] KKR> Re: N & LC reconciling .... but can Mephistopheles and Faust ever REALLY come to terms? <VBG> On another subject -- aside from FK, do you have any upcoming projects we should be "on the lookout for", or has FK kept you too busy? (she says, pad and pen in hand ...)

<[Eve] E.MAHONEY3> We've heard more mention of the vampire "community." Will we see LaCroix interacting with other vampires (not just Nick and Janette), or with other mortals?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Not with other Vamps. I've tried to play down the "community" idea. I think that it only leads to confusion. Other mortals, yes.

<[Eve] E.MAHONEY3> I love it when LaCroix tries to make Nick face his vampirism. Nick just shrugs off what LaCroix says or looks disgusted, or denies it. Will they ever have a *real* dialogue about it? I look forward to seeing you with the other mortals..:>

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> The problem with a real dialogue is that Nick has such a fixed attitude. He refuses to see anything good in Vampirism. It is bad by definition for him. With other mortals, it's always fun.

<CANOL.NOS> Since LaCroix survived Nick's assault, do you think LaCroix has entered the realm of the Enforcers?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> I don't think so. Nick's assault was really not a threat to LC. He is immensely powerful. Even Nick does not know how much.

<L.ROTH1> Were/are Will Paint Cans come to US? I saw a trailer for Legends but no local adverts for it being shown

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> I'm not sure. It was well received at the T.O. film festival, but as for a U.S. release, who knows.

<L.ROTH1> Thanks!

<[Becky] B.THOMSON5> Isn't it rather unusual for a series like Forever Knight not to have a bible? Is there a reason none was ever written? Is there any progress in putting together a bible now? Isn't not having one sometimes troublesome?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> I don't think that the Prods ever thought that F.K. would be this popular, so a bible was not a priority. Even now, I don't think that one is being prepared, and Yes, it is inconvenient!

<[Becky] B.THOMSON5> I'm confused about Forever Knight vampires and mirrors. Is the idea that most vamps aren't reflected in mirrors, but Nick is? Because of Nat's efforts, I mean.

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> This is one of the areas of confusion. They seem to make up the rules as they go along.

<[Jackie] J.VANSUCH> Sounds like Quantum Leap. <G>

<[Eve] E.MAHONEY3> Are there any romantic scenes on the horizon for LaCroix, either in the present or in flashbacks?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> I am deeply, deeply sorry to say.....NO!

<[Eve] E.MAHONEY3> I'm sorry too. Bummer. How about more great flashbacks where Nick is shown enjoying being a vamp (even with regrets)?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> I hope so. It couldn't ALL have been bad.

<[karyl] KKR> I hope you guys know that you have a LOT of fans out here ... I am on another service also, and the word there, as it is here, is that this season has so far been terrific, and they are all VERY pleased with LC's return! Many of the questions you've answered tonight are ones they've been asking too --- how would you feel about my posting some of what you've said? (Jackie, is that improper or uncool, vis-a-vis GEnie? If I give GEnie credit?)

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> I'd like to see him caring for his children. He chose them. He loves them. His love is misunderstood. But once, surely, they were a happy family.

<CANOL.NOS> What character do you play in Legends of the Fall? Did you have a chance to work with Anthony Hopkins?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> I play a guy called Asgaard, a sailor who saves the leading man's life. No. I didn't. BOOOO!

<CANOL.NOS> Ah, do you know how to crochet as well as knit?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Nope.

<[Lostsoul] J.PRASINOS> (Pauletta) Do you think LC faithfully reminds Nick not to deny what his vampiric nature is because he's been through that, that he's motivated by a parental desire to save Nick from unnecessary grief than from annoyance?

<[Lostsoul] J.PRASINOS> Also, do you think it's possible LC was initially attracted to Nick because he wanted to challenge the convictions of the righteous Crusader?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> The answer was to Lost soul. And to her second question, yes, though that was not the major reason.

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> He saw him as a son.

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Madonna should be aired in Nov. LS. the car is good.

<[Eve] E.MAHONEY3> First of all, I'd wanted to tell you that my husband, who's always been adamantly anti-vampire, has been watching the FK tapes with me this season and *likes* the show! Anyway - will LaCroix go back to his radio job?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Absolutely. That is now his space.

<[Eve] E.MAHONEY3> How would you say LaCroix spends his time when he's not harrassing Nick?

<[Jackie] J.VANSUCH> Nigel, is there a problem?

<[Nigel] N.BENNETT3> Not as far as I know.
