Synopsis

In 2012, a meteor strikes earth, causing earthquakes, tidal waves, and a dust cloud that soon covers most of the Northern hemisphere, turning it into an ice-covered "death-zone". Three years later, most of the survivors have settled in the only habitable territories below the equator. When an expedition plane to Europe is destroyed by a mysterious satellite signal, controlled from the ruins of Berlin, a city that was considered dead and buried - under 30 feet of ice and snow, the President of the New United Northern States orders a new expedition to find and destroy the base and the satellite. Tom Parker volunteers to lead a group of highly trained specialists on a suicide mission to Berlin - with ground vehicles, no reliable intel, and zero radio contact. In the ruins of what was once one of the most dynamic cities in Europe, a desperate fight ensues for the power to change everything - for better or for worse...

Col. Waters: "Gentleman, we are on a very tight schedule today."

post02.wav
Col. Waters: "You don't believe it's gonna work?"

post03.wav
Col. Waters: "Now listen to me now - Mr. Hanson, is it? - Hintze, yeah, well, I would never entrust
national security to a microwave oven."

post04.wav
Col. Waters: "Gentlemen, we may be about to save the world today."

post05.wav
Col. Waters: "Not lately."

post06.wav
Col. Waters: "Your father made his decision - he wants to stay. He made it equally clear he wants you out."
Anna:"But you can't make me go!"
Col. Waters: "Yes, I can."

post07.wav
Col. Waters: "Good work, Parker. Why don't you come up and help me calm the others."

post08.wav
Col. Waters: "Now, Parker! That's an order."

post09.wav
Col. Waters: "Okay, close it up."

post10.wav
Col. Waters: "It's too late.
Parker: "No, no, Sir, you don't understand...."
Col. Waters: "You are too late."
Parker: "Sir, my wife and daughter are out there!"
Col. Waters: "They can get on the next plane. Now you sit down, that's an order!"

post11.wav
Col. Waters: "Okay, Parker, now you're coming on this plane as a passenger or a corpse. It's your
choice."

post12.wav
Col. Waters: "You should consider yourself really special, Parker. You're the only man who pulled
a gun on me and lived."

post13.wav
Col. Waters: "Madame President, it was a microwave beam from SolStar 2. Basically, they were
flash-fried. At least we know that SolStar 2 is active and under control, albeit hostile control."

post14.wav
Col. Waters: "And according to our latest intelligence from the death zone, we haven't had any contact
there for the last two years."

post15.wav
Col. Waters: "There's more to it than that."

post16.wav
Col. Waters: "The microwave beam was originally designed to be transmitted to ground relay stations
at a low level of energy."
President Miranda Harrison: "And?"
Col. Waters: "At a higher level it can be discharged as a single concentrated burst."
President Miranda Harrison: "Resulting in?"
Col. Waters: "Massive widescale destruction."

post17.wav
Col. Waters: "The military funded its development. We needed it to have some sort of weapon capacity."

post18.wav
Col. Waters: "SolStar 2 was considered lost. We assumed it had been damaged or destroyed when the
comet entered the earth's atmosphere. We saw no need to put a dead project in the report."

post19.wav
Col. Waters: "Gregor Starndorf designed the satellite. However, he and his project supervisot Hintze
remained in Berlin when it was evacuated. But his daughter Anna who also worked on the project did get
out."

post20.wav
Col. Waters: "Quito, Equador, South America."
President Miranda Harrison: "I want her back."
Col. Waters: "Yes, Ma'am."

post21.wav
Col. Waters: "That's out of the question."

post22.wav
Parker: "Colonel Waters, I'm the most experienced person-'
Col. Waters: "Look, why don't I just have you arrested and make sure you can't go?"
Parker: "Why don't you stick a gun in my face like you did last time?"
Col. Waters: "That can be arranged, Parker!"

post23.wav
Col. Waters: "you know as well as I do that I don't want you on this trip but I have my orders
just like last time."

post24.wav
Col. Waters: "What?"

post25.wav
Col. Waters: "We don't even know what we're up against. The Arab states have us by the balls.
We need their oil more than any now."

post26.wav
Col. Waters: "This is Sarah Henley. She's ex-SAS. She's been selected as my second in command.
and that means that you will follow her instructions exactly the same as you would follow mine - you
understand?"

post27.wav
Col. Waters: "Ahh, that was good."

post28.wav
Col. Waters: "Ladies, Gentlemen, President."

post29.wav
Col. Waters: "Madame President, we're set to go."

post30.wav
Col. Waters: "Okay, people, we have a deadline: 48 hours. Let's move."

post31.wav
Col. Waters: "Everybody in the trucks. Prepare to drop."

post32.wav
Col. Waters: "When the satellite starts turning, then we drop."

post33.wav
Col. Waters: "Plane's expendable."
Anna: "But we're not expendable."
Col. Waters: "It's a necessary risk if we're going to convince whoever's in control of that
satellite that they've destroyed us."

post34.wav
Col. Waters: "How long?"

post35.wav
Col. Waters: "Not yet."
Anna: "It's powering up!"
Col. Waters: "Every second we spend up here is an hour less on the ground. On my mark."

post36.wav
Col. Waters: "The last plane took forty seconds before it blew."

post37.wav
Col. Waters: "No, no, no, it's a risk. Sometimes in order to achieve our goals, we have to take
risks that other people might see as insane. Do you know who said that?"
Anna: "My father."
Col. Waters: "That's right."

post38.wav
Col. Waters: "Initiate drop."

post39.wav
Col. Waters: "Chute deployment in five seconds."

post40.wav
Col. Waters: "Four...three..two...one...chute deployed."

post41.wav
Col. Waters: "Is everybody okay?"

post42.wav
Col. Waters: "Here, let's get out of here. Truck 2, we take the lead."

post43.wav
Col. Waters: "Why don't you and Parker get some rest?"

post44.wav
Col. Waters: "What the hell do you mean - detour?"

post45.wav
Col. Waters: "Rind's frozen solid. It'll easily take the weight of two trucks."

post46.wav
Col. Waters: "For God's sake, Parker, you know time's of the essence."

post47.wav
Col. Waters: "Okay, okay, which one's the nearest?"

post48.wav
Col. Waters: "Yeah, well, it looks like we missed that carnival of yours."

post49.wav
Col. Waters: "Let's do this. The sooner I get over there, the happier I'm gonna be. Truck 2, you
take the lead."

post50.wav
Col. Waters: "It looks like level ice up ahead. Pick up the speed, Parker!"

post51.wav
Col. Waters: "Your advice has been noted and has duly been ignored. Give me some more speed, Maloney."

post52.wav
Col. Waters: "Brace yourselves! When this thing goes it's gonna be a bumpy ride!"

post53.wav
Col. Waters: "Parker! You trying to get yourself killed?"

post55.wav
Col. Waters: "Come on, guy, get a move on."

post56.wav
Col. Waters: "Parker, that was a crazy stunt you pulled back there. Thanks."

post57.wav
Col. Waters: "How's it look?"

post58.wav
Col. Waters: "Any sign of life?"

post59.wav
Col. Waters: "No, no, despite what you think about your father, there may be people out there who are willing to do us harm. We'll recon from here."

post60.wav
Col. Waters: "You wouldn't come back."
Parker: "And why is that?"
Col. Waters: "Because all you wanted was to get to Berlin. How can I trust you to come back?"

post61.wav
Col. Waters: "What are you doing?"

post62.wav
Col. Waters: "No, no, no, it's a war zone now and I can't afford to lose you. Your job starts when we secure the institute."

post63.wav
Col. Waters: "Don't tell me to take it easy! Nothing's gonna jeopardize this mission, you understand?"

post64.wav
Col. Waters: "Let's not rush into things. Anybody who survived here for three years knows more about the city than we do and probably about our attackers."

post65.wav
Col. Waters: "I'm perfectly well aware of our priorities, Henley, and also of the chain of command."

post66.wav
Col. Waters: "Just do it!"

post67.wav
Col. Waters: "We were sent here by the government of the provisional Northern States."
"For us?"
Col. Waters: "No."

post68.wav
Col. Waters: "No, we're here on a mission."

post69.wav
Col. Waters: "And how do we get there?"

post70.wav
Col. Waters: "Let's spread out and find this doctor. Ellison, secure this position."

post71.wav
Col. Waters: "It's a security measure, Mr. Starndorf"

post72.wav
Col. Waters: "Why exactly do you need a security force?"

post73.wav
Col. Waters: "And what exactly are they doing now?"

post74.wav
Col. Waters: "Who exactly is in control of N at OSI at this time?"

post75.wav
Col. Waters: "The use of SolStar 2 as a weapon of mass destruction has been deemed an act of terrorism. Consider yourself under arrest and surrender control of the satellite to us immediately."

post76.wav
Col. Waters: "Resulting in what?"

post77.wav
Col. Waters: "At this moment, SolStar 2 is powered up and aimed at cities in northern Africa."

post78.wav
Col. Waters: "Is everybody okay?"

post79.wav
Col. Waters: "Mr.Starndorf, we need the master codes of the institute."

post80.wav
Col. Waters: "Yeah, that's a good idea. Let's get out of here. Miss Starndorf, please come with us. You're the only one who knows the facility."

post81.wav
Col. Waters: "He's dead."

post82.wav
Col. Waters: "Okay, so we're gonna need you to create a diversion in the main tunnel to draw the guards way. You think you can do that?"
Parker: "Yes."
Col. Waters: "Okay, let's go!"

post83.wav
Col. Waters: "Okay, we split up. You're with me. Come on, let's go."

post84.wav
Col. Waters: "Good work. No alarms."

post85.wav
Col. Waters: "Yeah, well, let's see what we're up against."

post86.wav
Col. Waters: "What do you want, Hintze?"

post87.wav
Col. Waters: "Let's make a deal. What do you want?"

post88.wav
Col. Waters: "What's that? A place in the sun? 24/7 happy hour at the local bar?"

post89.wav
Col. Waters: "He's crazy."

post90.wav
Col. Waters: "We've got less than two hours before that nutbar has enough power to blow up Tangier."

post91.wav
Col. Waters: "Hey, hey, hey. Wait, wait. You'll hear the system disengage. Let's get ready."

post92.wav
Col. Waters: "Okay? And...GO!"

post93.wav
Col. Waters: "What the hell did you do that for? He was no threat!"

post94.wav
Col. Waters: "Do it. We're running out of time."

post95.wav
Col. Waters: "Listen, I'm sorry."

post96.wav
Col. Waters: "Before. Your family. Ordering you to leave."

post97.wav
Col. Waters: "So why don't you go and find out what you came here to find out?"

post98.wav
Col. Waters: "What is it, Henley?"

post99.wav
Col. Waters: "Just relax, Henley."
