Synopsis

TOP OF THE FOOD CHAIN is a science fiction comedy set in the small backwater town of Exceptional Vista. The story opens to reveal an economically forgotten town whose people are devolving, obsessed with sex, TV and fishing. Suddenly, their world is turned upside down when it is discovered that someone or something is eating the townsfolk! The arrival of the handsome and mysterious atomic scientist, DR. KAREL LAMONTE (Campbell Scott) arouses suspicion in some locals and intrigue in others, including local beauty SANDY FAWKES (Fiona Loewi) and her overly protective brother GUY(Tom Everett Scott). Has nature selected Exceptional Vista and the rest of the human race for extinction, or is a more sinister force behind the terror? Will Dr. Karel, Sandy and Guy prevent humanity from toppling off the top of the food chain or will it take a miracle to save them all?

Lamont: "Yes."
